Chapter 185 The Ice Road
The stone spikes were heading toward Karin, who was not paying attention at all as if something else was more important to her.
\'Well... Since I\'m already wrong, I need to make the headache as small as possible.\' Karin muttered inwardly as she took a deep breath and clapped her hands together, freezing everything around her again.
The stone spikes stopped, turning completely to ice, then Karin grabbed hold of one spike and leaped toward Erel.
Erel grew wary as he struck the ground with his cane, lifting massive boulders from it, however, Karin was already right in front of him.
She came close to him, grabbed his hands, and bent down to whisper, "Hey... I don\'t really feel like killing you or fighting you, so let\'s dance."
Erel was puzzled as Karin moved to the right, forcing Erel to follow her. She moved from one point to another, and Erel had no choice but to follow her as Karin held his arms tightly.
Erel frowned, he didn\'t understand why Karin was doing this, but he didn\'t try to figure it out either as he recognized that she was a crazy girl.
"Wow, didn\'t expect you to move so well without your cane? Have you danced before?" Karin smirked as she approached Erel, looking intently straight into his eyes, then she gave in slightly and continued to move them forward.
Erel didn\'t notice this as all his attention was on Karin, but she was taking him as far away from the cave that Zayne was now in as possible. She couldn\'t let Fate Knight see him, otherwise, Zayne would be in big trouble that he wouldn\'t be able to handle at the moment.
Whooooooooooooooosh.
Under Karin\'s feet remained an icy trail that followed her all the way to the edge of the misty forest until they reached the cliff.
Erel\'s eyes went wide as he thrust his cane into the ground, holding them in place, not allowing Karin to drop him.
"That\'s enough. I think you\'ve had enough fun already, don\'t you?" Erel said sternly, tossing Karin away from her. She jumped back sharply, landing smoothly.
Erel stepped forward, making the ground around him tremble as his eyes grew deeper, revealing the power hidden within him.
"You may be trying to seem invincible and all-powerful, but in fact, you and I are about on the same level." Erel said calmly, striking the ground with his cane.
Karin smirked, "Oh, do you really think you can beat me? Well, I want to see it. Unlike you, I don\'t need a cane to get around."
Erel narrowed his eyes as he pointed the cane at Karin. At the same moment, a stone bayonet emerged from the ground that instantly reached Karin, piercing her arm.
Under tremendous pressure, the arm was torn from her body as Erel gave a satisfied grin, but soon his face turned pale.
Crackle. Crackle. Crack.
The arm turned into chunks of ice, shattering into small shards next to Karin. Erel looked at her wound, and instead of blood, he saw only ice, dense and strong, able to withstand quite powerful attacks.
"Fuck... How did I not see that..." Erel muttered, shaking his head, he realized that a mere puppet had been fighting against him for some time now, "When did you do that?"
Karin smiled deviously as she touched her lips, "Do you really think I would tell you my secrets?"
Erel flinched at her stare, then Karin\'s face changed to cute.
"Just kidding! Of course, I\'ll tell you! I did it when I hid behind one of the wrecks to attack your puppet later. That\'s when I left the battlefield." Karin explained with a slight wave of her hand.
Erel scratched the back of his head, "Wait... Did you leave? What\'s the point?" Erel expected a battle, he didn\'t understand why Karin decided to run away.
Karin sighed, "Well, because of you I already have a headache, so if I had killed you I would have been in real trouble. We met by chance, and in that case, Order would find out who killed Fate Knight, I would be hounded as if I had stolen the most important treasure in the whole world!"
"Shit... You\'re fucking weird... You calmly killed Oracle, but you\'re worried about an Order looking for you, who already wants to get rid of you?"
Karin smiled, "Sorry, can\'t help myself. See you later!"
Crackle.
Cracks appeared across Karin\'s body as she shattered into ice crystals, leaving Erel no clue.
Erel shook his head, looked toward the academy, and muttered, "Well, I have no chance of finding her, that\'s for sure, so better get back to where I started."
Erel was sent by Order to let some of the Fate Knight candidates show what they were capable of during the tournament. Zexiton was a famous academy, and to win a tournament in a place where the most important thing was power was a real achievement.
\'Agh... It\'s still all kind of strange, what was she doing here, and why did she decide to take me away from the original battlefield?\' Erel pondered, then shook his head as he jumped off the cliff, moving towards the academy.
There were no opponents for him in the misty forest, the monsters here could not even hurt him, so he stepped forward slowly with the help of his cane.
He did not notice that all the while, a silhouette was watching him, carefully hidden among the trees.
Karin followed Erel\'s every step until he was completely out of her sight.
"Fine, he\'s actually decided to drop this venture and not try to find me. That\'s good, now I need to see how Zayne is doing..." Karin muttered before disappearing into the shadows.
After a while she appeared next to the entrance to the cave, covered with many spider corpses. They were cut with a very sharp blade, quickly and efficiently.
\'Not bad, but it looks like he\'s still fighting.\' Karin muttered inwardly as she entered Spider Nest.
